Announcement of the 9th Open Government Partnership initiative Global Summit

Governments and Civil Society representatives will gather on the Open Government Partnership initiative Global Summit in Spain, from 6 to 9 October 2025.

The Government of Spain is hosting the OGP initiative summit, that will take place in the City Vitoria-Gasteiz, from 6 to 10 October 2025.
 
The main event of the 9th Global Summit (2025 Cumbre OGP / OGP Global Summit) will held from 7 to 9 October, while number of sectoral and regional meetings are taking place on the  margins of the Summit on 6 and 10 October.
 
This Global Summit will gather more than 2.000 high representatives of governments, civil society and policy makers from around the world. They will exchange experiences, the best practices and achieved progress on the open government initiatives, as well as the implementation of the key questions related to the OGP initiative principles.
 
In addition, the prizes for the best, as well as the most innovative and influential reforms in open governments applied to the Call The Open Gov Challenge will be awarded on the Global Summit.

Selection of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Autonomous Community of Basque (OGP Local, Member together with five other autonomous communities and one municipality in the country) as the host city is a proof of dedication to Spanish integration of open authorities at all levels of government.
