ESF Contract award ceremony to CSOs, on 30 December 2021, 13:00 hours

On the occasion of completion of the part of project contracting process referring to the two Calls for grants „Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to promote STEM“ and „Strengthening the capacity of civil society organizations to respond to local needs, the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs is organising a formal contracts award ceremony.

The first Call worthing HRK 150 million is aiming at strengthening of the CSOs capacities for active involvement of children and youth and general population in the popularisation of STEM. Specifically, the Call is intended to improve the capacity of CSOs to implement programs in the field of STEM promotion, cooperation between CSOs and educational and high-education institutions in popularisation of STEM, as well as increasing the number of activities with the purpose of popularisation of STEM in general population with the emphasis on children and youth.
The Second Call in total value of HRK 120 million is intended to assure the development of civil society in the Republic of Croatia which ensures balanced regional socio-economic growth and democratic development of the Republic of Croatia. Specifically, the Call seeks to strengthen of CSOs capacities active in local communities to implement activities tailored to local problems and to work directly in areas funded by the European Social Fund (employment, education, social inclusion, good governance) at the local level, but also improve the capacity of CSOs to provide an effective response to the local community needs in crisis situations.
The projects to be contracted are valued in total HRK 25 million, out of which the amount of HRK 140 million has already been awarded (more than HRK 10,5 million intended to the implementation of projects in the areas affected by the devastating earthquake on 29 December 2020). All projects are co-financed from the ESF and the State Budget in the position of the GOfNGOs.
The contracts signatoires will be welcomed by the representatives of the Intermediate Bodies (GOfNGOs and the National Foundation for the Civil Society Development) and the Managing Authority responsible for the implementation of the European Social Fund (Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy).
