At the margins of the UN General Assembly, on Tuesday 20th of September in New York, a global initiative Open Government Partnership was officially launched. On this occasion the Declaration on Open Government Partnership was announced. Eight states, members of the Managing Board of the initiative, presented their national action plans. The intention to participate in the initiative was confirmed by additional 38 new participating countries, including Croatia, represented by Mr Ivo Josipović, the President of the Republic of Croatia.
Several weeks ago the Republic of Croatia sent a formal letter of intent to participate in this initiative and the first public debate was held on 14th of September 2011, organized by the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia, the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs and the U.S. Embassy in Croatia.
