The general objective of the project is to improve the quality of social services in accordance with national good practice examples and relevant EU standards. A specific objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of NGOs in making partnerships with public institutions at the national/local level in providing social services where civil society brings added value.
Project Implementation Unit of the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs monitors project activities through regular reporting and approves the projects based on agreement with the Ministry of Finance (CFCU). As a partner, the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs provides premises and equipment, participates in campaigns for improved transparency, monitors all project activities and participates in education.
In the last three months a significant progress has been noted in project implementation: thirty memorandums on the understanding with local authorities have been signed with the aim of creating partnerships with civil society organizations in providing social services and that is the result of numerous workshops, seminars, trainings, which were carried out by 15 experts on the territory of the Republic of Croatia, in which approximately four hundred representatives of local authorities, state institutions and civil society participated. Many educational and promotional materials were printed for that purpose, a study trip to Poland was organized and a media campaign started.
