In line with the National Strategy for the Creation of an Enabling Environment for Civil Society Development 2012-2016 and pursuant to a public invitation published on the GOCNGOs web site, the process of selecting members for the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) from Croatian associations was completed.
The submitted applications were examined by the Selection Committee which comprised the representatives of the Council for Civil Society Development (Slađana Novota, Jany Hansal, Leke Sokolaj), the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs (Igor Vidačak) and Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (Diana Štrkalj). Following the interviews which the Selection Committee had with the candidates the following three candidates were selected:
Both the assessment of all candidates and the Committee’s final decision were based on the conditions and criteria which were underlined in the public invitation. These encompassed previous experience in cooperation with European association networks; proficiency in European integration issues; language competence and presentation skills in English, ability to cover a broad range of fields and topics of interest for civil society within EESC. Another important criterion taken into consideration was the communication plan, in particular its quality, innovation and comprehensiveness regarding consultations with the representatives of Croatian associations and reporting back about EESC work.
Selection Committee members and the representatives of the Council for Civil Society Development, the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs and Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs would like to use this opportunity to thank all candidates and association networks for putting up their candidates for participation in this important process.
Congratulations to the selected EESC members! We are convinced they will establish good models of communication about EESC work with CSOs whose scopes of work are many and varied.
