As part of the Pilot project “ASOC - Cross-Border cooperation Interreg Italy - Croatia”, for the project participants, i.e. the students of the four secondary schools from the Croatia the online education was held, which also marked Open Government Week 2022 (OpenGovWeek).
Schools selected to participate in the Pilot Project “ASOC - Cross-border cooperation Interreg Italy - Croatia” that is implemented during the school year 2021/2022 participated in the implementation of the interdisciplinary education programme intended to all types secondary schools in the eight counties participated in the Interrerg programme of Cross-Border Cooperation Italy-Croatia. The programme is intended to citizens monitoring of public finance by applying of publicly available data, as well as the information and communication technology.
It is about the experimental project with the aim of including Croatian and Italian secondary schools in monitoring of projects selected within the Interreg programme of Cross-Border Cooperation. With this Pilot project the pairs of Italian and Croatian schools have been connected and under the supervision of the teachers monitor the same project selected from the Interreg programe of Cross-Border Cooperation, and the research of the project will present through the creative final paper.
On the basis of the Public Call for Expression of Interest and the proposal of the Committee for Selection of Applications
the schools were selected from the Dubrovnik-Neretva, Karlovac, Istria and Zadar County, whose students will have the opportunity to get to know the Cohesion policy with the focus on the functioning of the Interreg programme of Cross-Border cooperation and the projects connected to it.
Governmet Office for Cooperation with NGOs (GOfNGOs) and the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds have cooperated for the third year in a row in the implementation of this project, i.e. education programme with the aim of promoting students participation in monitoring of investment within the EU Cohesion policy by using publicly available data.
With its activities, the project promotes and contributes to the civic monitoring of public finances by applying publicly available data and IC technologies as well as raising the culture of active citizenship, which overlaps with the main goals and values of the OGP initiative. The copperation with the Initiative is also an integral part of the Italian project “A Scuola di OpenCoesione” (“At the School of OpenCohesion”) on which the Croatian project is based.
Within the Project the online education was held, on 20 May 2022 for the high schools students, i.e. participants of the Pilot project, by which the
Open Government Week was celebrated, as well, as part of which citizens are encouraged to participate in the creation of policies that affect their life, through public discussions, on line education, public disclosure of new data and different events attended by citizens, representatives of the civil society and the authorities.
The main goal of the online education was to present goals and values of the global
Partnership for Open Government Initiative and the importance of active involvement of young people and citizens in its implementation. The guest lecturers were Darija Marić from the GOfNGOs, Nikolina Matić from the Government Office for Legislation regarding the subject of e-Consultations Platform and Sanja Pavić from the Association GONG on the topic of the Popravi.to.
