Walk through the History of Association in Zagreb

The Walk will be held on 8 June 2024 within the NGOs’ Open Days 2024.

The history of association in the Republic of Croatia has a long and rich tradition started with medieval brotherhoods which can be considered the forerunners of associations as we know today. Nevertheless, the prosperity of association and civil society held in 19th century, primarly in Zagreb where prominent social and political figures founded associations with the aim of developing the city and helping socially disadvantaged citizens.
 
Within the manifestation NGOs’ Open Days 2024 GOfNGOs organises 7th year in a row the Walk through the history of association in Zagreb. The aim of the walk is to bring the public closer to the rich history of the activities of associations in Zagreb that have significantly contributed to socio-economic development and laid the foundations of modern civil society. With the expert leadership, during the Walk some of the most significant locations related to civil society in Zagreb at the turn of century, 19th to 20th will be visited.
 
The Walk will be held in Saturday, 8 June 2024 form 11.00 m.a. to 12.30 p.m.
