6 projects and 37 partner organizations successful on the first deadline within the framework of the Europe for Citizens Programme

Within the framework of the Europe for Citizens Programme, 89 project proposals were submitted by the organizations from Croatia, which is almost as double as the total number of the last year’s applications on the both deadlines (March 1st and September 1st).

Associations and other non-profit organizations, municipalities and towns were able to submit grant requests for their project implementation, on the topics of European Remembrance and Democratic Engagement and Civic Participation, within the four Calls for Proposals opened by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in Brussels.

Six projects of the total value of 584.500,00 EUR have been selected for funding, while another 37 Croatian organizations will be implementing projects worth 3.028.250,00 EUR as partner organizations.
Within the Strand 1 European Remembrance, the projects will be implemented by the following organizations:
 
 
  • GONG, Civic Activism and Resistance in Retrospect: (post)-Yugoslav region 1980-2016: RETROaktiva
  • Sense Center for Transition Justice, Targeting History and Memory 

Within the Strand 2 Democratic Engagement and Civic Participation, the funds have been granted to the following:
  • the Town of Klanjec, SolidEU – About solidarity in EU   – Measure 2.1 Town Twinning
  • the Municipality of Erdut, EU Roads   – Measure 2.2 Networks of Towns  
  • the Croatian Platform for International Citizen Solidarity, More Democracy for More Europe   – Measure 2.3 Civil Society Projects
  • the Association „Mi“ -Split, Optimizing Volunteer Services in Times of Refugee Crisis    – Measure 2.3 Civil Society Projects

The next deadline for submitting grant requests is September 1st, 2016 but only for the Measures 2.1 Town Twinning and 2.2 Networks of Towns. Although these measures are primarily aimed at projects implemented by local and regional self-government units, they can also be implemented on their behalf by all non-profit organizations.
