An online informal meeting of European contact points of the Europe for Citizens Program 2014-2020 was held

Under the auspices of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU, an informal meeting of all national contact points of the Program was held with representatives of the European Commission and the Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual Policy and Culture (EACEA)

Organized by the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs, the national contact point of the Europe for Citizens Program 2014 - 2020, under the auspices of the Croatian Presidency of the EU Council, an informal meeting of all European contact points was held on 18 June 2020 with the representatives of the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
 
The meeting discussed the adjustment of activities within the work programs of contact points caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the documentation of activities that took place in virtual form and the administrative procedures related to the extension of projects. The basic functionalities of the Funding and tendering portal platform and the accompanying online tool for submitting e-Grant project proposals, which will be used in the future programming period 2021-2027, were also presented.
 
Another important topic of the meeting was the future program of the Union Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Program, which in the financial perspective 2021-2027 will be joined by the current program Europe for Citizens 2014-2020. The future program should consist of four sub-programs (strands) that will be dedicated to the promotion of equality, EU fundamental rights and values, the rule of law, the promotion of democratic engagement and active citizenship at EU level, and the protection of victims of violence. The current Europe for Citizens program and all its measures will be part of the Citizens engagement and participation strand, which will continue to address the issues of active citizenship and encouraging citizens to participate in political life of the EU.
 
In addition to the above, the results of the tender from the 1st application deadline 2020 (February and March) were discussed, which relate to the measures Town Twinning, Networks of Towns and European Remembrance, as well as the implementation of the audit procedure of the Program beneficiaries.
