Conference "Role and Contribution of CSOs to the Sustainable Development of Local Communities in Croatia"

Conference will be held on 5 June 2025 in Šibenik within the NGOs’ Open Days 2025 including a live broadcast.

Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs (GOfNGOs) organises already traditionally NGOs’ Open Days, which are held this year in the period 5 to 7 June 2025. The associations all over Croatia organise numerous creative workshops, lectures, performances and actions so as to getting closer its programmes and activities to the citizens. They will also present their community service projects and programmes in innovative way, as well as possibilities of involving citizens in volunteering programmes.
 
The Opening of the NGOs’ Open Days 2025  manifestation will start on Thursday, 5 June 2025 with the Conference “Role and contribution of the Associations in Sustainable Development of the Local Community in Croatia” that will held in the premises of the Arsen House of Art, Obala hrvatske mornarice 1, Šibenik at 10a.m.
 
CSOs activities are very important on the local and regional level for the reason they often contribute to finding the best solutions according to their knowledge and taking into consideration of the local needs and interests. Also they work on building of trust, strengthening of the citizens’ participation, social networks, as well as support in building of good relations with the community. Inter sectoral cooperation has the great potential for creating a series of positive changes and needed synergies for sustainable social and economic development.
 
The goal of this conference is to emphasize the importance of the CSOs work in the local communities as the initiators of development, as well as possibilities, opportunities and challenges, which have been putted in front of CSOs on that way.
