Croatian Government Adopted Amendments and Supplements of the Regulation on Accountancy of Non-profit Organizations

At its session held on 8 January 2009, the Government of the Republic of Croatia Adopted the Regulation on Amendments and Supplements of the Regulation on Accountancy of Non-profit Organizations. The Regulation aims at harmonizing the need for provision of statistical data with the data contained in the financial reports. This change has been made for the purpose of the new form of the quarterly report which is serving the needs of both statistics and financial monitoring. At the same time, all present annual and interim financial reports are being subject to change and harmonization with the needs of statistics. Thus, the system of reporting is being simplified and rationalized, for non-profit organizations are no longer obliged to write statistical reports.

An important novelty of the Regulation is the introduction of the Registry of Non-profit Organizations whereby more quality monitoring of financial data of non-profit organizations at the level of the entire sector is enabled, which was impossible by means of existing registries.
