Czech Forum for Development Cooperation Published a Program of Activities during the Czech Presidency of the European Union

Czech platform of civil society organizations (CSOs) Czech Forum for Development Cooperation (FoRS)has published priority themes that it will focus on during the Czech Presidency of the European Union. The first theme that shall be intensively dealt with is the “Development Effectiveness of the Civil Society Organizations”. The emphasis will be primarily on the continuation of the activities started in June 2008 by setting up the Open Forum for CSO Development Effectiveness, gathering CSOs active in the area of provision of developmental aid with the aim of designing a global framework for developmental effectiveness of CSOs.

The second priority theme is “Good Governance”, within which one will seek to join the two dimensions of the concept, namely good governance in the light of provision of developmental aid and the process of democratization.
 
During the Czech Presidency, FoRS will also promote some other themes, such as education for development, sustainable technologies and sustainable development, migration and development as well as agriculture and food security. Apart from that, two conferences will be organized, i.e. International Conference on Development Education (28 and 29 May 2009) and International Conference on CSO Development Effectiveness (23 and 24 June 2009).
