Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs organised the discussion on the Strategic Framework for Civil Society Development within the Conference "Civil Society 2030: CRO-EU_Euro-Mediterranean"

A conference "Civil Society 2030: CRO-EU_Euro-Mediterranean" was held in Sibenik, from 23 to 25 October 2019, organized by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development

The conference gathered more than 300 participants reflecting on the new national strategy for an enabling environment for civil society development and the possibility of financing civil society organizations (CSOs) from EU funds. Within the Conference, training on public procurement procedures and conflicts of interest was organized under the Public Procurement Law and training on the impact of civil society in the digital age.

The opening ceremony began with tge introductory greetings from the Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds, Marko Pavic, the Director of the Gevernment Office for Cooperation with NGOs, Helena Beus, the President of the Board of Directors, Dražen Vikić-Topić and the Head of the National Foundation, Cvjetana Plavša-Matić.

Within the working part of the Conference, representatives of the Government Office moderated the discussion on a new strategic framework for creating an enabling environment for civil society development.
The participants were thus able to participate in discussions on key areas covered by the draft National Strategy: an institutional framework to support civil society development, civil society and participatory democracy, empowering civil society organizations for socio-economic growth, civic engagement and civil society development in an international context.
The contribution of the participants will be taken into consideration in the further process of creating the national strategy. This specifically refers to the thematic session of the Council for Civil Society Development, meetings and focus groups with stakeholders and measures holders, public consultation with interested public (e-consultation and public consultation), discussions, as well as the final official statements by the bearer and co-bearer of the measures.
