Held sixth session of the Interdepartmental Committee for coordination of policies for funding projects and programs implemented by NGOs
Sixth session of the Interdepartmental Committee for coordination of policies for funding projects and programs implemented by NGOs financed from the State budget was held on 31st of July. The meeting was chaired by the deputy Prime Minister Milanka Opačić.
Members of the Interdepartmental Committee talked about the report for funding programs and projects implemented by NGOs which were in 2012 financed from the public sources. Milanka Opačić stressed the importance of the greater focus on the use of EU funds, which will in future be available in a significantly higher amount than in the pre-accession period, as opposed to funds from the state budget and partially the revenues from the games of chance. All beneficiaries of State budget should rationalize the requirements of the above mentioned resources and should rely more on EU funds.
Furthermore, plans and priorities for financing programs and projects of NGOs from public sources in the 2014 were presented and criteria for the allocation of the revenues from the lottery for the programs of civil society organizations introduced. A new model of financing the programs and projects implemented by NGOs in 2014 was proposed. New model includes greater support in the tender procedure provide by the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs and the National Foundation for Civil Society Development in cooperation with regional foundations and regional support centres. The aim of the new model of support is to ensure the efficient preparation and implementation of the tender, as well as monitoring and evaluation of the results of programs and projects implemented by NGOs from public sources.
