Swiss Embassy representatives visited Petrinja

The representatives of the Embassy met with the Associations IKS and O.A.Z.A and the pupils of the Jabukovac Elementary School.

Representatives of the Swiss Embassy visited Petrinja on 24 November 2021 and met with representatives of the Associations IKS and OAZA and the principak and pupils of the Jabukovac Elementary School.
 
Representatives of the Swiss Embassy, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds and the Governmetn Office for the Cooperation with NGOs (GOfNGOs) met with the beneficiaries of the projects achieved thanks to the support of the Swiss-Croatian Programme of Cooperation including the co-ofunding of the GOfNGOs.
 
The Principle fo the Jabukovac Elementary School, Jadranka Novak, Tamara Jovanović form the Association IKS and Mile Drača from the Association O.A.Z.A. presented projects results. The pupils share their experiences of participation in visits in Switzerland, summer kamp in Orahovica, and number of other interesting out-of-school activities they participated last two years.
 
In a community with a badly-affected earthquake in December 2020, the project contributed to easier spending with the consequences of the crisis, and children and young people from the Sisak-Moslavina County took part in camps and intercultural activities with peers from other countries.
 
The Association IKS implemented project named „CROSSWORK - partnership of the education for global citizenship“ in partnership with the Swiss Pestalozzi Foudnation. Through the transfer of the Good Practice Model of the Pestalozzi Foundation, developed through worldwide work over seven decades, the capacity of local primary and medium-sized schools and civil society organisations, as well as locla communities as a whole, has been strengthened.
 
Through the projejct „Oasis for children“, the Association O.A.Z.A form Zagreb in partnership with the Association IKS as well as 2 schools from Zagreb and 3 from the area of Banija, the programme of extra-curricular education for sustainable development intended to primary school pupils was created. Non-formal education workshops have included all aspects of sustainable development (environmental, economic and social) in extracurricular teaching in school gardens. The activities were attended by local and foreign volunteers who gave an intercultural dimension.
