Creative Europe - Culture

The programme started in 2014 when the previously independent programmes Culture and MEDIA were merged into a joint programme called Creative Europe. In the programming period 2021-2027 the Creative Europe programme was divided into three sub-programmes: MEDIA, Culture and Cross-sectoral, building on the legacy of the previous period and continuing to encourage cultural organisations and institutions to reach and develop a wider audience, to address current social issues and support young emerging artists. The Culture sub-programme is intended for all cultural and creative sectors in Europe, except for the audiovisual (MEDIA subprogramme), whose main goal is to improve artictic and cultural cooperation at the European level; to support the creation of European work; to strengthen the economic, social and external dimension of the European cultural and creative sectors; promote innovation and mobility.
