The Union program Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) was presented in Samobor

The presentation was held on Thursday, 3 March 2022, at the Youth Centre – Bunker, and was attended by more than 50 participants.

The Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs (GOfNGOs), as the National Contact Point of the new Union program „Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV)“, in cooperation with the City of Samobor and the Public Open University Samobor, presented financing opportunities through the named Programme to the non profit sector and the local self governments, in Samobor.
The participants were welcomed by Petra Škrobot, Mayor of the City of Samobor, who thanked to the GOfNGOs for holding a presentation in Samobor and wished success to all potential applicants for the calls under the Program.
Željka Markulin from the GOfNGOs presented the Program, its goals, thematic areas, currently open calls, as well as the application criteria. As to remind you, the CERV program is the largiest program ever, to promote and protect the Union values: democracy, rule of law, fundamental rights, transparency and good governance. Its goal is to build and even more democratic Europe and raise citizens awareness on rights and values enshrined in the fundamental Treaties and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, providing financial support to the non-profit sector in promoting those rights and shared values. In the financial period 2021-2027, the estimated budget of the CERV program is 1.5 billion euros and is divided into 4 thematic units:
1. European Values strand – promotion of the fundamental EU values
2. Equality, Rights and Gender Equality strand – promoting equality, rights and gender equality
3. Citizens engagement and participation strand – promoting a common European history and active civic participation - involving citizens in the democratic and political life of the Union
4. Daphne Strand - combating all forms of violence
