The website “Active ageing” including the free of charge activities has been initiated

Today (1 October 2026), on the day of marking the International Day of Elderly People the new web page - www.aktivno-starenje.hr, of the National Foundation for the Civil Society Development (NFCS) was presented.

The website has been created within the ESF+ Call “Strengthening the CSOs Capacities for the Implementation of Active Ageing Programmes” published at the end of April 2025 with the application deadline until the end of August. The Call is the result of the Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs (GOfNGOs) and the NFCS programming after which the Awarding Ceremony organised by the GOfNGOs, NFCS and the Ministry of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy was held in May this year. On that occasion 83 contracts worth more than 22,5 million euros were awarded.

The Call aims, on one hand, to improve the capacities of civil society organisations to implement the Active Ageing Programme, and by carrying out activities, to contribute to increasing the quality of life and social inclusion of people over 55 and pensioners.

The Active Ageing website incorporates content on various activities and events intended to the mentioned population (for example, recreative programmes, fitness for the 3rd age, corrective gymnastics, individual trainings, counselling and other educative and social content), as well as more specific information on where, when and to whom to contact. The way of searching according to place, county and date should be specially highlighted, which makes it easier for them to find content in their local community.
In addition, all the activities for the final beneficiaries are free due to the funds to the associations for their implementation have been ensured from the State Budget (GOfNGOs budget) and the European Social Fund plus (ESF+).

The news was also published on the official ESF+ website and in print media (Morning Paper, Evening Paper, Voice of Slavonia, Voice of Istria and Free Dalmatia), as well as on online portals, for example:
