Conference on the occasion of the International Public Right to Know Day

Central State Administrative Office for Public Administration in cooperation with association GONG organized a Conference on the occasion of International Public Right to Know Day in Journalist Centre (Novinarski dom) in Zagreb, on 28 September 2007.

The conference was opened by the Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of the Family, Veteran's Affairs and Intergenerational Solidarity, Ms. Jadranka Kosor. Right to know is one of the basic human rights and one of the mechanisms for fighting corruption, discrimination and all types of abuse“, the Vice Prime Minister pointed out at the conference on the occasion of International Public Right to Know Day.

The conference was organized with the aim of analysing the status of the implementation of the Right to Access Information Act from 2003 and exchange of experiences between national and international experts in that field.

State Secretary Antun Palarić also addressed the audience pointing out the importance of education conducted by the Central State Office for Public Administration in order for the civil servants in charge of implementing the Right to Access Information Act with the public administration bodies to be trained for practical resolution of demands for information.
