Conference on Civil Society Dialogue between Croatia and European Union: Status and Perspectives
Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs, in cooperation with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development, organized a conference under the name Civil Society Dialogue between Croatia and European Union: Status and Perspectives to be held in Split, on Thursday, 4 October 2007.
The aim of the Conference is to encourage exchange of experiences and better cooperation of Croatian and European civil society organizations in the process of Croatian accession to the European Union.
The Conference is also an opportunity for discussion on the announced initiatives for founding the Croatian associations office in Brussels, as well as founding Economic and Social Forum that would gather, apart from employers and unions, representatives of other civil society organizations, primarily associations.
Since the day after the announced Conference, on 5 October 2007, a meeting of the EU-Croatia Civil Society Follow-up Committee is held in Split, the conference on the Civil Society Dialogue between Croatia and European Union: Status and Perspectives will at the same time be an opportunity for a presentation of the opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee on the progress of the Republic of Croatia on its way to membership in the European Union.
We expect that 150 representatives of civil society organizations from Croatia and the European Union will participate in the conference. The languages used at the conference will be Croatian and English with provided simultaneous interpretation.
