Council of the OGP Initiative
Open Government Partnership is a multilateral initiative that aims to ensure specific improvement in transparency and openness of public administration bodies, engagement and empowerment of citizens and civil society, fight against corruption and use of new technologies for the improvement of service quality provided to the citizens by the public administration.
At the end of August 2011 the Republic of Croatia sent an official letter of intent for its participation in the Open Government Partnership, thus joining the implementation of this Initiative.
At its session held on January 26th 2012 the Government of the Republic of Croatia passed the Decision on establishing the Council for the Open Government Partnership Initiative.
The current assembly of the Council has 26 members (representatives of state, local and regional governments, civil society organizations, academic community and the media).
The Council’s duties are the following: preparing a Proposal of the Action Plan for the OGP initiative implementation in the Republic of Croatia, including the implementation of the consultation procedure on the Proposal and monitoring of its implementation, as well as recommending amendments and addendums of the Action Plan to the Croatian Government.
The public administration and implementing bodies of the Action plan activities are obliged to give the Council full information on the implementation of the measures within their competence.
The operational and decision-making procedures of the Council for the Initiative have been determined by the Rules of Conduct:
